I love this film. The innocence of Chance the Gardener is so adorable and wonderful. I’ve never seen a film like this one.
Of course I’m also madly in love with Peter Sellers.
Also I love Shirley McClaine.

Chance the Gardener:
This is just like television, only you can see much further.
Also, the ending is magical.
It stars Gerard Depardieu which on it’s own would be enough to win me over.
It’s about a sweet, illiterate man who befriends an old woman who lovingly teaches him how to read and what it’s like to be appreciated.
It’s a love story. Not a romance. More like soulmates.

I really loved this movie. I watched it from Netflix. It is striking in its simplicity. 
It’s a story being told to a grandson. The grandmother’s memory of coming to Minnesota from Germany as a mail-order bride. 
We see everything through her eyes, vivid and real.
The characters are richly written and easy to fall in love with. 
It’s beautiful and not sappy or corny. A real love story.
Based on the short story, “A Gravestone Made of Wheat” by Will Weaver. 
Won the Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature at the Florida Film Festival.

This movie is lovely. Absolutely perfect. I cried through a lot of it– not sobbing, but tears down my cheeks. 
A very beautiful, quirky, heartfelt romance. Nothing cheesy.

3. Trains, Planes, and Automobiles (so, I don’t really love this as much as it was a part of my childhood and Steve Martin used to be a very funny man)
